Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning & Control Specialist Manager to join the Planning & Control team in Civil Portfolio Planning. Investing in our people and our functional competency is critical to our future success in Planning & Control (P&C). P&C is responsible for managing the end to end (E2E) supply and demand processes, from Sales & Operational Planning, through demand planning, parts production and supply, warehouse storage and logistics, supply into engine build and onward transportation and delivery of engines to our end customers.

As our customer demand continues to increase, we need to ensure that the team is ‘match-fit’, to enable Civil Aerospace to deliver. This central role enables you to develop, deploy and support functional processes, tools, training and systems that enable the total supply chain to produce credible plans that balance cost and performance. Provide business support and coaching where necessary and develop communities of practice. Measure process performance and champion compliance. It will give access to people across the P&C organisation to play a major role in evolving P&C rules, tools and processes for the future.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of staff where applicable to maximise performance and ensure compliance to all company and functional policies

  • Ensure processes balance cost, inventory, risk and delivery performance by considering their effect on the whole value stream.

  • Developing people where applicable to ensure that the function always has the highest possible level of professionalism, that the function retains its key staff and that it has a strong succession plan in place.

  • To be equally responsible for the role of both technology and people in the design and definition of systems and processes.

  • Prepare both mandatory and advisory documentation of processes and system in standard formats

  • Develop and use metrics to monitor process performance, identifying potential hazards to the achievement of delivery, cost and inventory objectives and opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop the capability of end users of the process through coaching and the preparation and delivery of training material.

  • Provide the means by which businesses will manage the process compliance of their users. Support business requests for assistance in improving compliance

Position requirements

For the Planning & Control Specialist Manager role, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Understanding of importance of E2E integrated planning for decision making

  • Knowledge of planning tools within ERP systems (e.g., MRP) and potential experience of using an Advanced Planning System (APS)

  • Experience of Planning & Control activities across organization or across industries

  • ​​​Consistently delivered results within a Planning & Control environment.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and tools and the ability to interpret and generate insights from data systems and sources

  • Robust organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills

  • Experience of Load/capacity planning either internally or externally is preferred

People & Leadership skills:

  • A passion for people development

  • The ability to build relationships and influence others across multiple levels

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster cross-organizational collaboration and training delivery

  • Openness to support and lead change

  • Experience in creating and delivery of training material is preferred
